Jack Straw never got round to answering the all important question last week, but the answer was undoubtedly yes - the years of poor, weak immigration policy have obviously contributed to the rise in support for the BNP.Things do need to change.

Didn't see the program, sounds like a pantomime to me!

But the Aussie guy has captured the feeling completely. It's time our politicians took notice of the feelings people have on immigration here. We do a lot of work in social housing sector, and my wife works for the NHS. Both of us see a LOT of people getting a lot out of the system without contributing to it.

I'm not on favour of the BNP in any way, shape or form, but it doesn't take half a brain cell to work out why they are gaining in popularity. I read the Aussie guy's quote to my wife (A dyed-in-the-wool-liberal) and she came back with a vitriolic lashing that if Sharia law was ever on the political agenda, she'd vote BNP. All a bit much for before 7am!

If you said they same in this country as what Howard said in Australia you would be called a racist and prosecuted under the race relations act or what ever it is called now.

Because you are white and born in this country you have no rights to what you can say over forgieners coming into this country but they have all the rights on their side, its time what ever government is in power it should look at the problem before as Enoch Powell repeated what one of his constituantes said "The will be rivers of blood in this country"

people often say that it is good to experience other peoples cultures.

What many people interpret this as in their own heads is, look at all the different restaurants they can go to.

There are many other bad points to other cultures, even America brings its gang culture here.

The BNP is also always blasted as anti black, but im sure they feel the same way about all the thousands of white eastern european immigrants now in this country.

most things are fine in moderation, but the British culture is slowly dissapearing and becoming an ethnic minority in its own country eg Leicester.

Australians owt to remember that the Aborigines were there first, and that they really should have more say and prominence in their own country.

One set of questions that no-one has asked (as far as I am aware) is this:If the leader of a party that is as far to the Left as BNP are to the Right was invited on to Question Time, would there have been an equally large dirt-storm surrounding his/her appearance as surrounded Nick Griffin's?

Would the BBC have changed the format of Question Time for a far-Left leader?

Would an openly Right-wing audience and set of panelists have been assembled to give a far-Left party leader a rough time?

When I did History at school, we were taught that far right and far left are pretty much the same - it's a big circle, and all extreme views meet on the far side of it.

This is a very small island. It is not ruled for the people, by the people, it is ruled by a small establishment who have their own agenda.

No member of any major party has ever dared to speak out against the unmanagible inward flow of immigration since they saw Enoch Powell ( a possible future Tory PM) blackballed into political obscurity after his Birmingham speech.

Some government spokesman said last year that " We need immigrants for the construction industry" What a load of ballcocks !! What construction industry !! You might find Poles but a buiding site in freezing winter is not the place to seek out our other settlers.

The truth is , and I'm not afraid to spell it out, most immigrants are here to milk our benefit system for all they can get. How come thousands of them do not work. Why can I drive through huge areas of this city during the working day and see the streets thronging with blokes all spending money in the shops.

Why is it that shopping malls in some areas are thronging with cars and customers every weekday like it is a Saturday.

How come , in some areas of the Midlands , some benefits paid over in Post Offices only leave the building in the form of a money order leaving the country ?

Does'nt the fact that would be immigrants will cross every frontier in Europe to get into Britain tell our leaders anything ?? Or are they too busy fiddling their expenses , which is really the two fingered salute to all of us who voted for them .

I'm glad my father's generation ,who fought WW11 for our freedom , are not around to see the bankrupt dumping ground this country has descended into.

I'm sick of the patronising *******s who have brainwashed us into thinking they know what they are doing. A year ago we thought the great British banks knew what they were doing too, America is out of recession this week, Germany is, also Japan. Britain ? We are still borrowing like there is no tomorrow.

No wonder thousands of Brits are leaving every year. But still they fiddle while Rome burns.
