Hi all . A quick question on testing the above .

Am i right in thinking that when testing insulation resistance on a fridge,i need to do a 'power on' leakage test so that the compressor is actually in circuit when the test is carried out ???

Similarly does a pc need power applied to enable the 'on' switch to 'latch on' and enable the test to not just measure the cable ??

Any advice welcome !

I use a KT71 and i need the power on for it to test the IR

what i mean is the door needs to be open on the fridge
