Hi guys we were called to a drive through car wash in the cold spell a few months ago and found the water pump to be faulty so ordered a new 1, 1 week later it went faulty so we sent it back to manufacturers who have just told us that it had burnt out probably due to being run with frozen water in the system.

My question is :- is there some sort of heating wrap or wire that can go over the exposed pipes to heat them a little to stop them from freezing up?

It is not really our area of expertise.

Thanks Kenny

PS yes it probably is easier to get them not to run it but when a plumber and an electrician cant stop them it shows you what we are dealing with.

I use heat trace tape on my well pump. Works well although I did learn the hard way after my pump got frost damaged before. I connected the tape up in series with a frost stat set at 4 deg C. I just did a quick search on ebay and this is very similar to the tape I used. Ebay number 170409265535

Hope this helps Steve
