Anyone know where I can get my Plumb Line calibrated for accuracy ?

Its now on the re-assessments for Part Pee .   Oh and the bubble in your spirit level  must have a BS kite mark .

And all chalkline twangs  must now be notified to Local Building Control .

I got knocked back on my assessment for not having a clear label on my left hand screwdriver ...... And apparently its no longer acceptable to write a risk assessment on the back of a pack of 20 Rothmans!

You can get the spirit level bubble re charged by the same people that re-gas plasma tv's.

Not sure about the plumb bob, it's a different calibration factor up here, a bit like a difference in magnetic north offset.

Ah!  Never thought of that TBH , yes of course, nearer the  pole  a Pumb line from the Midlands is not going to be accurate,  And of course would be no good at all in the Southern Hemisphere  .

In the Southern Hemisphere it would hang upside down, so different calibration needed.

Has anyone else seen these new fully insulated plumb-bobs?

I was asking Megger Mark for a price on a new tape measure the other day...

Cuz mine wont retract within 200ms anymore..

(yes.. I know its OK for a 5M tape to retract within 400ms if measuring safe zones...

But when using them around unskilled persons the NIC get a bit stroppy if it wont retract, and lock within 200ms)

Anyway MM told me he could do a deal on a calibrated tape measure meeting 200ms 5M retraction..

and a fully insulated plumb bob at 20% off cost price, but he's not getting them in till the end of the month...

Still waiting for him to PM me some links but I think he said they were Makita????
