Hello there!

I wanting to install an island in the kitchen of my new house. It has under floor heating in. Kitchen fitter said his electrician told him we can’t run power to the island to power classic hob because of under floor heating. Is that correct?
Thanks very much!

Putting an island over underfloor heating isn’t a good idea and running a cable would be almost impossible unless you go through the ceiling and down a pole..

so I agree with the advice you have had

if its a wood/ raised floor then may be possible to get a cable under the floor. if its concrete then ideally it would need to be in a duct below the UFH and would have needed to go in first

if UFH already installed then fitting an island isnt always a good idea. not too bad on wet systems but its possible to overheat electric systems
