The "Ohm-tight "  bush tool  & the Locknut King "

I was told they were both marketed by an ex- NICEIC Assessor.

The Ohm-Tite bush tightener,   I did actually use until the amount of brass was reduced to such an extent that it would no longer fit .

It's all in the underside PD.

I'll try to remember to post a few pics of the tools that I have picked up in recent times for bushes & lock nuts, they are all still available too, and IMHO very good, to ensure that you get the items tight.

Especially when you are working in adverse conditions of various kinds.

Including live boards, which obviously I would never do nor endorse.

Dave ... pic is somewhat blurred ....look closely at right hand end of the Locknut King ,  can just make out a raised bit with a straight cut on it which locates with one flat of the locknut   .   It worked to a point  but never as good as  the water pump grips or hammer & chisel .

The Ohm-Tite  worked a treat .

All in days of conduit being the earth of course.

Nothing as far as I know ...did it for years .

I'm sometimes amazed at the number of earth wires in steel trunking ....yeah yeah ..one for each circuit , but when the encasement is an earth conductor , all we ever did was drill and attach an earth at the point of exit.       Miles of copper cable doing  nothing really .

Quite Deke, welcome to the new breed!

Quite why you need multiple cpc's within a trunking which is acting as a cpc and, the regs only consider one fault at a time, and, if you analyse it in depth is a very valid assumption!

The local NHS  specified a trunking down the centre of a (say)  refurbished ward , above the suspended ceiling , 20mm conduit off to each socket  or bedhead unit  .   Just one earth wire up the final conduit from socket  , bolted onto trunking .   16th edition days  but you still couldn't enter test  result in  the ring continuity box .

Talking of ancient tools I noticed today I still have a socket set given to me by a past neighbour .     American make  "Blackhawk "    given to him by US troops when he was  a Desert Rat .      They're knocked about a bit but not worn at all , even the ratchet works , I think they are AF size .

One of the sad things of life ..  about 20 years ago a mate I grew up with  died ....  he was a chippie,  his missus had all his tools there, didn't know what to do with them , I said make sure they go to another chippie who would appreciate them .   Gave me his Bosch SDS 110V   which I still use .

During the WOWARRRRR. there was a USAF base down the road.

When it was decommissioned my ex mentor's father had the job of driving a truck for the local council and transporting all unneeded stuff to a dump site.

A LOT of the stuff did not survive the trip!

There are also a lot of properties around here where there is a very large amount of Robertson ( square head recess) screws used

Just saying

ROBERTSON

best screw ever,

where can you get them readily in England?

used to use them all the time until I came back to England, now I never see them,,,,,,
