problem with this incoming ?

So 4.56 ohms is fine then lol.........round here all the Earthing systems are questionable........Been doing another house this week and the service head says it's a TN-C-S but the earth runs straight up along side the armoured cable pass the service head and straight into the cu ( trouble is I cant see where the earthing cable comes from so not sure if there is a rod or not, Have only just gone self employed after studying for a long time and this is only the second job i've had to sort out ( just my luck :^O )

what do you mean by 'studying'? college course or on site work? im guessing its college/fast track course. if it is, are you sure you should be working for yourself yet?

what do you mean by 'studying'? college course or on site work? im guessing its college/fast track course. if it is, are you sure you should be working for yourself yet?[/quoteHave City and guilds 2330 level 2 and 3, 17th edition, 2391 inspection and testing and part P not fast track........taken nearly 4yrs and I paid for all the courses mmyself.......worked for an electrian short term but nothing since, nobody wants to employ trainee's so I just carried on with my studies in the mean time waiting for a break but it never came ( put adverts in papers, wrote and phoned electrical companies all over, even offered to work for free for a min of 12 months but no joy...........Cant get any experience if I don't do any work so the only option was to work for myself.........i'm a very cautious worker and never do anything untill I know what I'm doing......Hence being on here asking ( and annoying ) you guys

The fact that your asking questions before assuming puts you above the have a go wonders.

No one could annoy us on this forum its still the friendliest around and the advise is always good, based on experiance and knowledge.

Your experiance will grow with the more you do, if unsure always ask, it is far safer than doing something wrong.

I do not like the 5 minute wonders, but they are here to stay and if they do the job right by gaining the experiance and asking the questions then I can not hold that against any of them.

Its the ones who think they know it all that annoy me.

I do not know everything, I have to double check some things and I am nearly 50 years old.

(Memory loss is a symptom as well before you all start on me).

Good to see you are asking and doing it correctly, I can not take anything away from you for that.

fairly common the distributor upgrading a tt to pme and not leaving an earth connection.

never seen it but hear that its on the rise more and more from different lads in the field.

It's always been in my nature to ask questions and will keep doing so, like you say nobody knows all the answers ( including the NICEIC lol )..... it' amazing how many people are using this site and all with lots of experience but they still need a nudge in the right direction ever now and then which is a very good thing for all of use as we can all learn, I'm glad that there is a site like this...........Thank again for all your advice.........
