There is a bloke down the road in a town with a big Tower in it [go figure]. He has a restaurant and has been 'done' for buying ALL his certs off the t'interwebnetummathingy and filling them in himself. Fire, Em Lights, Lysteria, Gas, Water, Leccy etc etc etc! In his defence he said 'he did not think there was anything wrong with it'.......... :coat

hi there just sold the house and need certificate for rewire of kitchen that was carried out 6 years ago can i sign off the certificate myself as i have just passed my nvq level 3 apprenticeship? also is there a way to print off certificates online or do i have to buy them. the work was done by a sparky as a favour and who is now abroad?
Sounds to me like you haven't learnt much on your course then?

Do they no longer have the questions about who can sign what certificates and what has to be issued for each type of work...

You will require a Part-P compliance certificate......

this has legal obligations for work done since 2005....

All other BS7671 certificates have NO legal obligations what so every in a standard domestic properrty...

Isn't this the same question you asked here???

Are you sure it wasn't you as one of your property maintenance projects????

I have merged your two threads as the appear to be asking the same question. Duplicate threads are unnecessary as they just clutter the forum. (The answers appear to give the same advice as well)

Hi All,

Do you know what makes me laugh...When all sorts of people come on here, claiming to have all sorts of qualifications, but then they apparently know nothing of certification or part "P" !!!!!!!!!

This is a bit like passing your driving test, but not knowing if you are allowed to drive a car......

Ehhh, If you do not know what certificates are required for what, and when, then god help you when you actually have to fill in certs... Come to that, if you do not know what certs are required, and when, it will be IMPOSSIBLE for you to be a practicing electrician, because you will not be able to issue certs, if you do not know what certs you are required to issue, if you follow me....

Meanwhile, I have just qualified as a pilot, does anyone know if that means i can fly a plane???

[Not really before you all ask!!!!!!]

john.....

well you started it...you might have done a 5 day River Pilots course, or even a Pilot light course for a Gas Boiler, or a Pilot whale..... :coat , sorry!

I think your wrong there Kerching.....the short course for pilots was run by Airfix....lol

See Part P to the rescue, it's stopped cowboys in their tracks. NOT.

Why do I pay to belong to the club each year?

I would obtain EICR and learn from the experience!
