Well my plan would be to use it as an audio media server connected to our stereo. TBH I wouldn't want a monitor and/or keyboard & mouse to be on show and in all honesty there isn't anywhere for them to go.

I have looked at both iPad and Android XBMC control software,,, looks easy enough??

Noz it's the CPC Raspberry Pi, B, Plugnplay Kit, kit £55.00 + Vat and also a Black Enclosure £4.59 + Vat.

Kit contains, Mouse, Keyboard, 4Gb SD Card with Software loaded, HDMI Lead, 7 Port Hub, WiFi Dongle, Raspberry Pi, Power Supplies X 2.

Just downloaded constellation and XBMC onto iphone to use as a remote. Must try to power it up later

Not had time to set mine up yet either, it may end up being over Christmas at this rate.

for some reason i like the idea of this.  

when you say camera server what do you mean?

besides XBMC what are the other intentions for it to become?

I have a couple of them.... I do a few things with mine,

Fileserver/Printserver/Raspbmc/MAME

Software-Hardware Development.

I'm turning one into a wifi controlled quadrotor with cameras and stuff....  the software isn't far now... the hardware still has a bit of a way...

My kit has a 4 Gig card, do you think that's big enough. I'm saving mine until Christmas week.

Are you using an iPhone App ??

ah well, only 3 non-linux machines, thats not too bad,

I myself even had to boot up an ancient laptop running XP last night in order to downgrade an iPhones baseband,  :|

XBMC will run perfect on a 4G card,

but you need to just DL xbmc on its own and not with the full blown OS as well,

what APP are you wanting canoey? the remote control one? its out there somewhere,,,,,,,,,,,,

if you really want to be lazy,

download raspbmc , its premade for a 4G card, and is fairly good by all accounts
