Hi Guys,

Just a thought

need to fit seperate RCBO into split load MK board.

Obviously need to feed it with its own seperate feed, so chop off a leg of busbar, then how do YOU do it so it is;

1. Within Regs

2. Neat and tidy

I have used single brown 4mm to RCBO from main switch, (mainly for the grip in terminal rather than nessecity due to load1

smoke wired in 1.0mm

Regards......................Steve

As far as i know RCBO's are a direct replacement for MCB's

swap mcb for rcbo on the non RCD protected side of board, Line and Nuetral are terminated in the appropriate terminals on the RCBO

Flying nuetral lead goes to the terminal where you would have placed the circuit Nuetral

Cream (functional Earth) to the terminaion of the circuit CPC

HTH

Are you trying to fit RCBO into a duel RCD C Unit?

Not designed for it, they make another type with some NON rcd protected ways sometimes called a High integrity board for that.

;)

Yeah this is a retro fit - client does not want hi-integrety board, CU change.

There are no non RCD ccts, just a spare MCB slot

Not sure if I read this right but you have effectively taken a 4mm from the outgoing way of the main switch which is fused at 100A (DNO fuse)

So you have a 4mm cable fused at 100A.

And the problem with this is?

What size feeder tails would you take from a 200 Amp Busbar chamber to a

60 Amp Swich fuse?

What size flex would you use to a lamp holder from a ceiling rose on a 16A protected lighting circuit?

Take a look at BRB on overload protection

;)

When I used to use contactum boards and put an Rcbo in them I would use a piece of 10mm double insulated that way it has a bit of protection.

So just put the smoke in with a lights circuit instead of faffing about modifying the board! You're over-complicating it.
You are right, but if the customer wants it seperate and its within regs who I am to argue
