how do you "read" SWA cable? IE i cant seem to find CSA, when I look at the info on the cable, Is there anothe way to tell the CSA?

depends on how old it is what std etc if new it should say on the cable sheath

another way is to strip a core, measure the od of as trand with a vernier or mic and then calc the area and multiply by the no of strands

another is to strip a core an stuff a lug on it problem with 1/1.5 & 4/6 mm sq but for the rest you should be fine

unless it is imperial, though the calc method works for imperial

As The Sidewinder says, new stuff its printed on the sheath. After a while you can tell a lot of sizes by looking but makes differ and some of the hard drawn copper are more difficult , I usually go for the scientific method , try a lug on the end!!! :C
