Sorry have forgot my magic red book any one know the red method for swa underground in ducting?

Laurence

Don't you also loose 10% of carrying capacity if its underground or is that direct buried. DNO don't tend to use ductingf these days in my area as they say there concentric cables perform better direct buried.

maybe but been testing a new leisure complex and the outside lighting (lampposts etc) are in ducts im sure all the current carrying is fine thats what the designers get paid big money for...

lkaye,

If you are doing the initial verification & testing, then regardless of the designers calcs, you must verify that the equipment, as installed, is to the design specs and to the requirements of the relevant statutory legislation and non-statutory requirements.

will have a quick work out tomorrow when get my books out

6mm2 SWA max run 25m and think the fittings are 1kw off my head on 16a breaker off my head sounds correct still going through it all (have 20 boards to test) can go through it all when ive completed all the dead tests to double check
