I see that earthing is still NOT their responsibility .
it says they will no advise on earthing & bonding requirements. and why should they - its nothing to do with them since its the customers wiring, not theirs

but if they provide TNS or TNCS they do still have their requirements from ESQCR

Who does it round here? Getting the supplier out down here is a right pain the backside.

If there was someone on the south east / London I'd be ringing them all the time!

Interesting that an electrician is allowed to do dno/supply work.

Why only them?? Is that not illegal??? [to give them a monopoly and freeze out other people with similar qualifications]

What actual LAW says you cannot remove the fuse yourself?? If there is such a law, a DNO cannot exempt anyone from it, ]anymore than i could say that any particular person could drive at 90mph] and if it is not unlawful, then the only thing they could say it trespass, that is not a criminal offence [not talking aggravated trespass here] anyway, [Tis a civil tort]

john..

They did have tie ups with DNO a bit like Morrison not the shop that contract to DNO. A lot of work is contracted out these days UK power networks which was EDF certainly contract a lot of there work out. I am certain subcontractors don't have to ask each time they pull a fuse. BT also contract a lot of work out Kelly communications don't have to ask each time they touch BT equipment as they have been asked to do it.

I had a look through the ESQCR and I'm wonder if pulling the cut-out fuse is considered "altering a connection"? 25. (1) No person shall make or alter a connection from a distributor’s network to a consumer’s installation, a street electrical fixture or to another distributor’s network without that distributor’s consent, unless such consent has been unreasonably withheld.
