Request for computer help please.

 In this section in the hope someone sees it quicker than the Computer Thread .

Switched PC on to find the desktop & everything else is magnified so some stuff is off the screen and the desktop icons & shortcuts are spread across the screen instead of around the edges.

Searching around but cannot see how to correct it .

Any advice would be greatly apreaciated.

might be screen resolution. right click on desktop, click on screen resolution, box is in there to change it to something higher

Or reboot it - my laptop did something odd the other day (it "lost" most of the shortcuts) - a reboot fixed it!

I found the screen resolution , it was set on LOW  , bit difficult to get it right , going to try restart

I think I got it now  , I wasn't clicking "Apply" for the new setting .   Icons & shortcuts are all over the place  but I can drag those  back , just checking .

No  , just tried a stored youtube video  , screen size isn't quite right . 

Have to try later  ,  thanks for pointing me in the right direction  , I'll have another bash later .

Back again  ....its a bit weird , the resolution was set to LOW  ,   some of  the settings in between were off the screen , like really big ... finally come to HIGH  which I think was the original setting . 

Now its back on track , I think.

Got it back to this, below, which I think is how it was exept for the icons which are small but I can drag them back & change size .   No idea what caused that to happen  :C   It was magnified  so half the stuff wasn't on the screen .

possibly a video card error, I recall that used to happen on occasion for no apparent reason.

Glad you got it back as browsing the Web in 640×480 would be challenging.
