my point is that when and where in ANY specification for 2.5 cable does it carry 32a,.?The only other consideration that no one has mentioned so far is the maximum floor area covered...e.g.
32A 2.5mm Ring 100sqm
32A 4.0mm Radial 75sqm
20A 2.5mm Radial 50sqm
ref table 8a On site guide pg 158..
Given a suspeneded ceiling and suitable access I quite often spider-wire lighting. Makes for shorter runs, lower Zs readings and easier maintenance. Also useful to part energise a system mid winter when builder wants lights to work by.and when are you all going to start liking the spider lighting circuits again for the same reasons?
a 2.5mm cable cannot carry 32a?my point is that when and where in ANY specification for 2.5 cable does it carry 32a,.?the big red comic may allow it, doesnt mean it is safe.!
But on a ring main it doesn't you have two so that is two times 27 ampsa 2.5mm cable cannot carry 32a?
i thought he was saying no spec cable carry's 32a i was gona say pyro doesBut on a ring main it doesn't you have two so that is two times 27 ampsBatty
solution, wire ring finals in pyro,i thought he was saying no spec cable carry's 32a i was gona say pyro does
It could surely in ideal conditions.solution, wire ring finals in pyro, what fun,
so what your saying batty is 2x 2.5 can carry 54a.!?
wonder why I bothered using 10mm for showers, all that money wasted when I coulda used 2runs of 2.5T&E........
when pyro is specified what can you do Guiness Drinksolution, wire ring finals in pyro, what fun,

2 x 2.5 would be 5mm? So it should be somewhere between 4mm & 6mm (~42A)It could surely in ideal conditions.
1 cable can but 2 will be double2 x 2.5 would be 5mm? So it should be somewhere between 4mm & 6mm (~42A)Ian.
30amps table6E1 8In ideal conditions 2.5 can take 28 amps so 2 x 28 amps is 56 amps its getting better.
If 1 conductor of a certain C.S.A. can carry 'X'amps.so what your saying batty is 2x 2.5 can carry 54a.!?
2 x 2.5mm conductors would be able to carry more than a single 5.0mm, (if they made 5.0mm), due to greater surface area to allow the dissipation o heat.2 x 2.5 would be 5mm? So it should be somewhere between 4mm & 6mm (~42A)Ian.

stick it in liquid helium or something just as cold and it will take a bit more than 32A!a 2.5mm cable cannot carry 32a?
