Hi all,

I've had a couple of problems with my Robin earth loop tester tripping certain RCBO's/RCD and some 6A mcb's.

How do you get over this, a couple of times i've swapped eg: the rcbo for an mcb but it's getting a bit of a pain.

Is there a meter that does a Robin meter that does a soft test? I have the individual units and like them for their simplicity but maybe I should buy something more modern. Is there a good unit that i should look for second hand?

Thanks,

James

D lock does not prevent 6 Amp MCBs or RCBOs tripping as its not the RCD part that trips but the MCB. swop circuit to a 10 Amp MCB or larger to test.

James have a look at Megger MFT's, I've got the MFT1553 and never had a device trip yet. (that shouldn't have before someone gives a smart ass reply :p )

If you want to stick with seperates then the Kewtech KT45 or any of the Megger LTW's will do a low current test.

DLoc was designed with passive RCD's in mind and the old Robin Kmp4120dl will trip many RCD's.
