Hi Gents

I need to install a 16A 3P+N socket c/w isolator for a roller shutter door ( door installers plugging into this and doing there own control wiring).

This is in a farm building and the socket needs to be located next to where the incoming 3 phase supply is.

The problem is that there is no actual Dis board in this building (nearest one is in adjacent building and is full anyway) and I am limited for space nearby to fit a new one.

So my thoughts was to come out of the henley blocks into a switch fuse and then out of that in armoured to the socket c/w isolator.

Does this sound the best way or can you think of a better way?

Thanks.

had a similar situation a few weeks ago. needed a 32A TPNE from a full DB. installed a 4 way TP board adjacent, moved one existing circuit to new board and used old circuit space for breaker to new DB.

but still nothing wrong with splitting tails and using a switch fuse

Must admit, I would prefer to install a sub DB adjacent to the existing one, then wiring to the rolled door from that. But nothing wrong with blocks.

This may by a silly observation - but if the roller firm are electricians then why are you having to install the 3P+N skt. if not you need to make sure there is undervoltage protection, either via a contactor or by a hold to operate switch to prevent auto restart in case of power interruption. Don't want any crush injury

most shutters are pre-wired with 7-10m of flex to control, and a few meter of flex to a 16A TPNE plug to be plugged in. shutter co turns up, fits shutter, screws control box to wall, clips cable and plugs it in.

Take your door screen off make sure the old rollers are loose so it could come off the track. once the screen door is off take the old rollers and put the new ones on do not tighten the screws all the way put it back on the track and the ajust the rollers then tighten the screws.make sure you open door screen all the way to see if rollers are rolling on track.
