Hi

Went to a job today:- sauna been dismantled and refitted in another part of house (was never used in original position)

There are 2 X IP65 12v brass shower light halogens fitted in the ceiling app 1.9m high. (are these fittings compliant with sauna regs can't determine from reading OSG and BRB)

From my take on the regs they are in zone 2 even if the sauna unit is fitted directly below (above 1m etc)

my job will be to fit the sauna C/W RCBO (swedish job app 10 yrs old manufacturer says OK for 17th part P etc) just dont want to leave these lights in situ if they are a no no

Would seem suitable to me :D

tried regs but can't find the IPX??? conversion to IP65 etc etc

Just googled and IP68 lights are for sale for saunas

I did a sauna a while back and it had a metal fitting about 2 ft above the heater unit on the same wall. Checked the BRB and came to the conclusion I couldn't use it. Tried wholesalers for suitable fittings and due to extortionate prices I ended up fitting bulkhead lights under the seats.

Surely if they are 12v LV Lights, they would be connected to a selv transformer and therefore would not need to be IP rated?

I'm more concerned about what state they'll end up in ,physically after about 2 weeks of sauna use. Who knows maybe I'm just worrying about nothing.

They are 12v so no shock risk
