Just looking for some clarity, trying to find regulations regarding the distance required between solar panels and the roof edge, have seen a few things mentioning maximum distances but looking for confirmation.

I have read about 200mm from roof edge, however is that just mcs guidance although I would imagine that should be best practice?

There's no actual regulation, but I would follow the guidelines purely because to work right up the edges causes issues getting the roof hooks fitted in a weather tight way without excessive overhang of the rails.

300mm is what I used to work with, and 400mm max overhang of the rails from nearest roof hook, using Schletter rails - NB rail overhang is dependent on exactly which rail you use, you need to check the manufacturers guidelines.

Thanks for the reply, I did think that
