Hi all, can anyone recommend a decent chisel for a SDS that goes behind skirting board.

Cheers

450mm 10mm bit usually does the job for me. Bendy enough to get round back unless plaster is really tight.

On the very few occasions that I have to do this [not a great lover of Domestic work] 10mm 450mm bit and then some blethering with a piece of 25mm x 4mm flat stainless bar, slightly curved and ground to a chisel point. Every time I have tried a 'chisel SDS bit' it has started to move the skirting board away from the wall, then the carp falls either side of the chisel hole and the skirting won't go back flat enough... :coat

Thanks guys. I know about the carp falling either side of the channelling Kerching (thanks for the tip will give it a try), wasn't sure if anyone had experience with an SDS skirting chisel with a built in flux capacitor that doesn't disturb the skirting board too much.

"A chisel with a built in flux capacitor " Blimey !! I have one of those bent ,scoopy type SDS jobbies , yet to use it. TBH

As with Kerching I use a length of steel about 18" long X 1" X1/8 " slightly curved , bladder it down behind the skirting.

You say 'Bladder', I say 'Blether'...now there's an idea for a thread... :coat

I agree , I think we have done it before but it was interesting and worth reviving.

I'd never heard the word " Pikey" till it came up on here .

I'll start it off with the Brummie saying for " I say old bean, excuse me" Which here would be " Oye mite , yow wanna gerrout the 'orse row..ud "

Or " He looks a little fed up" Would be " He,s gorra face as lung as Livery Street"
