Shower Isolation Switch Position

Not in same room, but from some deep and distant recess of my mind I seem to remember 'within 2m' as a recommendation - building regs rather than BS7671. My own shower switch is in an adjacent small toilet ( not installed by me), which is not really very useful at all, but as it's a big ugly beast I prefer it there than 'on-show'.

i put my home shower pull cord in the living room near my fav armchair, that way i can turn the shower off if the kids are spending too long in there.
