Thinking of getting my van signwritten, hopefully it may drum up some work.

Never needed to advertise before, in 15 years self-employed. Phoned for a quote today , Escort 55 van ex BT

Where's the forum sticker gone off of the back O/S window, M107.

Don't tell me it was taking before.

Correct

The side piccy was taken a week before I received the forum sticker.

But well spotted matey.

I did mine first week I had the van. Not one person has referred to it as how they found me.

It might be good as a subconscious thing if they see your van around and associate to your ads but it doesn't bring in fresh work I've found.

how do you people manage with such small vans?! even my van is too small at times!
I dont.........I'm saving up for a vivaro.

I'll post a piccy of the mess in the back if I remember.

I've had a few, but have to admit most get my number from the yellow pages.

Looks very smart and professional
Not bad for a sunny saturday morning while nursing a hangover.

but the font is a little hard to read at 30mph
Patch what do you think I am? some sort of boy racer....fancy thinking I nip around at those sorts of speeds :^O

But yes I know what you mean, hence when I get the vivaro a change in font will be on the cards.

What do you sparks need to carry? Other than ndustrial conduit benders I assumed it would all fit in a little van?

A few powertools. some handtools and some spares?

Not like you need 25 8X4 sheets of platerboard in there............ ;)

ive had a few people get my number from my van

a while back i was working in a street and got a phone call from someone else in the street asking if i could price some work whilst i was in the area. finished job and went along to see her.

she said she saw the van, came along, wrote the landline number down, went home, phoned it, didnt get an answer, walked back along, got the mobile number, then phoned again.

Paddy it all depends how you run your business. I tend to do most jobs when I look at them rather than going back to them at a later date. It would be like you going say to a farm to a sick animal and then having to go back with the medication you need. Unfortunately electrical stuff is very bulky and to do basic jobs you need quite a lot of gear and tools. I have a large BT van which is fairly loaded. I find I can do most jobs without going back to them which saves a lot of time.

Point taken!

I do believe you fill the space you have - I drive a double cab pickup (Navara) and it's full. The other vets have smaller cars and cope with less kit!

:)

Its a case of trying to keep things tidy. A never ending battle I find.
