Just heard on the radio.

As from this Monday the RAF will be controlling the airspace in the Olympic areas .

Any aircraft that doesn't have clearance to be there will be "Investigated " by RAF Typhoons plus Army, Navy or RAF helicoptors.

Yep, it seems that way, and shot down if they do not reply/communicate with the pursuing aircraft or their controllers!

One of the things that makes me proud to be British is seeing the Tornados/Typhoons/Red Arrows flying past [i know they are not 100% British, but...]

They actually make the Tornado and Typhoon down the road from me and we get regular fly-pasts and some awesome free Air Shows. My daughter lives about 200m from the end of the runway...2 year old grandaughter AND my NEW 2 day old grandaughter sleep through it all...but bang the front door and there is all hell let loose. Quite spectacular when the plane gets to the end of the runway and they let the 'clutch out' or whatever they do! Jet virtually stands on its ar$e and the 'does one'................ :coat

Yes , I've seen Tornado,s do that , suddenly go from low level , open the throttle, into a vertical climb, the ground shudders . I try to save the word "Awesome" for things that are "Awesome " and those things are definitly awesome!!!

Not sure what variant it is [GR8???]...they come in 'fully tooled up'.....fricking awesome. If I was a fully paid up member of Aldi Queerleader, or the Tally-wagger-ban I would be soiling my keks and booking my 40 Virgins just at the sound/sight of it...they deserve everything they get AND a lot more!!!!

....and G4S can't do the job they quoted AND were accepted for?!?!? 2 ******* weeks before the start FFS.....so troops who have seen their mates injured/killed have to come back, give up their leave etc to bail out some private firm that cannot do what they quoted for!....Their CEO has been on today saying they will loose 50 Million quid over this,....tough *****!....here's an idea; take the transport of prisoners contract off them and all the other Government contracts, fine the Chairman AND senior managers pro-rata to their salaries, and they have said they will pay for any expenses incurred! bunch of incompetent overpaid ******* to$$ers the freaking lot of them!!!!

If any of us made a corresponding muck up with a public sector contract, we would never get another, and we would be stripped of all our existing, this is what should happen to G4S, and the company should be wound up for mismanagement.

The people who are without jobs should be able to claim against the incompetent management.

This is a muck up on the scale of LIBOR and the near financial collapse of the banks.

Remember this company is entrusted with the custody of some very nasty criminals, and they are not even competent to hire enough guards to fulfil a contract....
