Hi all,
I have been asked to fit a few 5 pin 16A three phase sockets along a run of now defunct 10mm SWA to "reuse" the original cable. [Might as well!!]
What i want to do, is to fit adaptable boxes in the required places, and then a 1 foot long "spur" if you like, down to each socket. Only thing is, what is the best way of doing the connections in the box?? If the cable was smaller, i would just use 1 in 2 out din rail terminals to connect up the spur. I could i suppose, use din rail terminals linked with jumpers, and it would certainly look neat, or, instead, i could just fit lugs to the ends of all the cables and bolt them together in the box and heat shrink them, but this seems a bit of a "botchy" way of doing things.
What would you all do? I could get proper junction boxes, but why do everything crammed in a tiny space when you could have a relatively large adaptable box to do it all in.
Oh, and yes, the feed to the original 10mm SWA will obviously now have an MCB suited to the CSA of the small spurs so i do not have to have an OCPD at every spur!
What you think???
john
