Have Grey T&E , probably pre metric, 15mm across flat is this equivalent to 6mm or 10mm? It served the old cooker socket.

Its no good any of us trying to guess what the size is without seeing it .

We can say what it probably is but it would be pure conjecture .

What is the reason for you asking ?    Are you thinking of making use of the circuit ?

Pre metric,?

It could be lead sheath, ?????

If it really is pre metric (and why do you say it is?) , then its probably passed its use by date anyway, that's 45+ years old.

Most electricians would tell the size by looking at it , Brooke .

Presuming it is Red & Black .  The proper way is what Sidewinder said .  You could ask for a couple of crimp lugs at the wholesalers , a 6mm & a 10mm  , switch off & try them on the cable ...see if one will slide on as a tight fit .

Or get a sparky in ....I'd guess you are limited to 30Amps ....probably looking at 7-8KW  ...all guesswork ...get a man in .

Yes, we want to know how big an all electric range cooker we can fit
