RCBO does the job of an MCB and RCD in one. I would Install a main switch - RCD - MCB - MCB - MCB

No extraneous metalwork in the garage. So i'll supply the distribution cable to the garage with a 32A RCBO and then fit the garage with just a 100a isolator and the 16A and 6A MCB'S.

Why not a 20A RCBO? might be able to save a few quid on the SWA.

So, just to be clear, I protect the supply end with Rcd protection and have no need to bother using RCD protection in the board situated in the garage?

Or alternatively have a time delayed at the distribution side

No need for a time delayed RCD, The RCD (30mA) would be at the board end as an SWA cable doesn't need any further mechanical protection.
