there have been many polling stations placed around town, and the local street lighting people have been adding the supplies to it. id love to see their risk assessments for this, and why they are exporting PME from the street light to the cabin. obviously sticking to 7671 will be too expensive

I had a chat with a guy today and explained how PME was set up. He couldn't believe it was ever supplied and asked why (esp. in this current H&S nanny state we find ourselves in). Cost was the only reason I can think of. Anyone have a better answer?

its cheaper for DNO to give PME. its only 2 core cable required, (or 4 for 3 phase) so it saves in cable costs. its one less connection to make so saves in labour costs.

Andy how do you know the street lighting is PME, might not be. The column would be connected to Neutral/earth.

because they are replacing all the columns in the area and DNO give it a PME supply. all new street lighting connections are always PME
