Hello All,

Well, it is over to you folks.......I have applied for a job in Dublin and Monaghan 80 miles away(this is where I may end up living, near family)

everyone says i am potty but in life you sometimes have to follow your dreams.... :red card

has anyone any advice, contacts to bail me out here?

I love Ireland, and still have family there, but have not been over since I was a child. Go for it mate the life is so layed back you will wish you did it before. sorry i have no contacts for you, but lets see what our steps can do.

I hope you have a wheelbarrow full of money for your 1st weeks shopping,!

have you checked out the price of stuff lately?????

oh, another thing, looks like they are about to go bankrupt..........

but you probably know that anyway.

Ah but steptoe...... The dole is 198 euros a week and the minimum wage is higher than here....

Yes i know it is in ruins, but i have to try.

a pint is about 10euros,

its a good job you dont smoke!!!!!

Dublins not so bad, and Monaghan near the Border, so you might get a commute North to work,

do you have any work sorted? or you still looking?

oh, some trivia, I dont know if any other country in the world is like this, but, did you know,

Southern Ireland is farther north than Northern Ireland?!

AVOID Limerick.........that's where all my rellies live!
used to race, drink and party just outside Limerick, Palaskenry, jeez, the craic was mighty.!

My inlaws are over in Co.Kidare (wife is Irish) and one of her sisters partners is a spark, he's now working for FAS (state funded training college) teaching would be sparks as there is hardly any work on the buildings... Unfortunately nearly all the family are struggling over there, got 5 family members in one building trade or another:(

A mate of mine from College days runs the uk division of a large multi national (Germany, USA, Ireland, South America, China etc) He has meetings In Ireland and reckons their company is the only thing in the local area stopping Ireland going bust !!!
That does not suprise me at all,,, if you think it's bad over here then you need to go over there,,, Ireland is on it's arse

the wifes step sister was over from Cork for a couple of days at xmas,

she says its just getting worse by the day.

might not be as grim a bit more north though and around Dublin.

Yeah it's pretty bad over here, make sure you have a job before you come over because I'm out of work 3 1/2 years now!
