Why are the people who have run this country since the 1950s hell bent on filling our major cities with benefit scrounging immigrants who we support with our taxes ?

Yet when people like the Gurkhas call for help they turn their backs on them. They turn their backs on people who have fought with us with great bravery and valour ( look at their VCs)

Its a disgrace !!

Joanna Lumley for Prime Minister

I'm sorry I have do disagree with that. Jerremy Clarkson should be Prime Minister ;) . The rest of it is bang on though.

Ian.

Agreed, We should bend over backwards for these guys.

Perfidious Albion - very apt with regard to the shameful treatment of the Gurkhas.

Pyro.

Typical of this government and the way they treat other people who fight for this country is not to good either.

Batty

:(

Have we all signed the lovely Ms Lumleys' petition gentlemen?

I certainly hope so, unfortunately as you are aware I have problems linking so perhaps someone that actually knows how would do it.

thanks.

oh, and I agree with everything, except its still Joanna for PM, she is better looking,(A LOT)

I actually have had personal experiance of the Gurkhas.

My grandfather was lost presumed dead for almost a year in Burma during the second world war.

He was eventually found and rescued by the Gurkhas, without them I would not be here today, so I always look favourably towards some of the best and courageous fighters this country exploits.

I dont know if admin would clas this as political, but could someone post a link of the campaign for GURKHAS RIGHT TO REMAIN IN BRITAIN as a sticky.?

how can the Gurkhas be a drain on our benefit system ?

they are the proudest bunch i ever came across and would see it as a disgrace to claim benefits

did anyone see the programme a few years back about their selection process to get into the British Army ???

make the Marines training look like a walk in the park

Unlikely Steptoe, but the respectable Ms Lumley has made and won her point.

they do the marines training just to get to the interview.!!!!!!!

thanks apache,

but this is the problem, directly copied and pasted, see i can do it.

The review is not looking at the pensions and benefits for those who have already retired,

so the men that already were prepared to die for us are not as important as the ones that do now????

what totally nand utter sh1t, I am in no way affiliatted to any english government as I am noit english, but i HAVE YET TO SEE ONE THAT COMES CLOSE TO mAGGIE IN HER RESPECT FOR THE TROOPS.!

The Gurkhas are a very respected part of our armed forces. I personally know men that have served with them and some of the stories that I have been told regarding these men and their sheer bravery brings a tear to the eye and as joanna lumley's father served along side them I can certainly see where her passion comes from in this campaign . I feel very grateful to all our armed forces past and present and this country seems very pro Gurkha ... I know I am !!
