According to the Draft for public comment for the Amendment 1 of BS7671:22008 the PIr is on its way out and is being replaced by The Electrical Installation Condition Report - which contains a number of major changes to the classifications codes - But one of the better changes is the inclusion of a more detailed ring circuit test results- to view the full document for public opinion go to ( www.theiet.org/publishing/wiring-regulations/DPC/NAPIT
