The American Olympic Team arrives next week , they'll be training down the road at Birchfield Harriers . Thing is, its in Birmingham , about 100 miles from the Olympic Stadium .

Wonder if they know ?

They built a mountain bike track by me in Hadleigh Essex For the olympics . I didn't know they also had mountain bike events in Wales . Quite a distance between like events.

On the news today a bus collected athletes from Heathrow airport got lost and took 4 hours to get to the Olympic village.

I do a lot of work in east London and the city. The Olympic lanes on the roads are going to make travelling even worse than usual.

For anybody that is going to any of the event sites.......

Dont bother to take any food (as in picnic) they wont let you take it in on the grounds of security.

You can take water/drink in but only one 100ml plastic bottle per person & has to be in a clear bottle (we were told with no lid bt security bod giving briefing wasnt 100% sure).

No booze at all.

No flasks for hot drinks.

Jury still out on the acceptance of sunscreen bottles.

Told that a 100ml / 150ml bottle of water will cost in the region of
