mornin all.

even though im 20 mins late this morn for some reason i still feel ive got time to post...

anyhow, gotta put some prices together later- i was wondering what sort of price people would put in for unsociable hours? from say 7pm-7am?

time and a half? or double time?

i charge time and a half for a callout, but its very rare i go out!

im happy(ish) to do it for time and half but being a greedy little spark i want max

If you are pricing a job that's planned for anti social hours then I'd go for time and a half

If it's a call out in anti social hours then 50 first hour and then 40per hour, compared with my usual rates of 35 and 25

I'd be more inclined to go time half upto midnight then double time after that because you won't be working the following day because your prob be in bed.

So a days pay lost has to be made up for what you may have earned.

PC,

Mine was 1/3 premium for 2 shift & 2/3 for night shift, mind that is employed, and planned work on a rota.

I have recently changed my rates for new customers:

I do 1.5x for between 06:01 & 07:00, then from 18:01 & to 22:00 and for any hours above 8 in a day M-F.

06:01 t0 12:00 Sat is 1.5x, though I tend to be flexible in this to suit me!

From 22:01 to 06:00 it is 2x M-F and from 00:01 to 06:00 Sat, and 12:01 Sat to 06:00 Mon, & all stat/bank hols.

These are based on the rate I charge so it may be from

cheers for replies all, good to hear everyone elses view.

After careful consideration I have decided-

1. time and half 7-10pm,

2. double time 10pm-6am.

3. Sack off badgers lines!!!

what sort of commision jobs do you do sidewinder?

tbh I don't think you'd get the job if you charge double time. Your not loosing out on a days pay your just working nights and not days.

It depends how long the job is. For example 2 weeks doing 5 nights a week with your normal rate at

I'm charging time and a half from 6pm till 9pm and then double from 9pm till 8am the following morning. I have quite a few landlords on my books and none of them have minded the price when phoning up late at night. I guess people expect to pay a premium at silly o'clock.

Fair enough for callouts, but the OPs work is planned and sounds like there's a fair amount too.

Why not just agree a fixed sum to be added to the original estimate for each night worked? eg
