Just looked at a property which has what is best described as shower in a utility room. Shower is the middle of one side of room and on the other side it has a worktop with sink, a fridge, gas boiler and washing machine underneath. (sink is directly opposite and approx 1m away, appliances are either side of sink) The appliances are connected to 2 off double sockets mounted above the counter and approximately 2.5m from shower, with all appliances out of zone 2. Needless to say this does not comply with regs which requires socket outlets to be 3m horizontally away from shower, however, as the vendor is selling property, I need a cheap but legal fix to problem, so was considering changing sockets for FCUs and hardwiring appliances to these (RCD protection will be provided as well) as from what I can understand from reading of the regs this would be legal, if not necessarily good. Your opinions please.
