ok, Ive had a look and on the same PCB as the 'missing' cap the only others I can see(3 of them) with the same physical diameter are rated 220uF 16v ,

on a neighbouring PCB the same diameter capacitor is apparent(1 off) and is rated 470uF 16v

all other capacitors I can see are of a different diameter,

so I think by conclusion I can go for a 220uF 16v rated capacitor...?

just got one today Dave, was working near a small indepentent retailer,

99 F'in pence,! and you thought maplins were dear?!

anyway, its a 220uF 16v one I got, am babysitting just now so will give it a shot when the little one has gone to bed,

what major effect would putting the wrong size in have Dave?

would it work then blow again, or just not work at all?

couldnt believe it!

last time I bought a capacitor like that I think was something like 20p for a bag of them.

still, if it fixes it then still a cheap TV.

just had a look at maplins, 10p, !

will be going there the next time, still, wasnt worth the time or diesel TBH going somewhere when this place was beside me.

a nice thought Dave, but me and ebay dont mix,

I dont use it due to a 'small' disagreement with them where they tried to take a couple of hundred quid out of my account to pay for something I had sent to the buyer.
