Hello looking for some guidance.

We have a 9 kw 3ph +N 415 volt flc 13.9 amp wall heater which was installed in out plant recently by a non UK electrician.

I just want to check that this has been installed properly before we turn it on. I am not an electrician so please bare with me I'll try my best, I have doubts relating to this installation works and I'm just looking for peace of mind and peoples views.

Cable installed - 4 core 2.5mm SWA

Cable length - 15 -20 mtrs

Fuses fitted - 15 Amp

independent earth wire fitted from heater to earth boss

Thats about all I can tell you, can anyone advise if this is suitably installed?

Thanks in advance

DD

Cable installation method?

Any external influences?

Good workmanship / Proper materials?

Test readings.

Electrical certificate serial No?

etc..

etc..

etc..

May be best if you get another electrician to come and test it if you doubt its safety ??

Bit like saying..

my car is Blue has four wheels is right hand drive do you think it will pass the MOT???

But then of course...

Your installing electricians test certificate will have their signed declaration that the work is safe and complies with current regs..

The arrangement sounds okay, but one has to ask the question WHY did your "electrician" not turn it on and try it (after testing the installation)?

I would no more trust an electrician who won't turn on his own circuit than I would trust a chef who would not eat what he has cooked.

I too wonder why the electrician has not tried & tested the job .

Not sure what an "Earth Boss" is  TBH .

When you say  "FUSES"  do you actually MEAN fuses   as in cartridges /fuse wire  or is it an MCB ?

I calculated the current at 16.25A for some reason  but if they say it is 13A then so be it.     Obviously we cannot see the job but on the face of it it sounds OK
