It's almost ironic that people get upset about the 25th and it's Christian meaning, the the Church of Rome back in the 5th century hijacked the the pagan's winter solstice festival, because it was easier to persuade the infidel (unbelievers) to join the faith. 25th has little baring on a certain birth date, because it is unknown, it's just a date born out of traditionBirmingham City Council doesn't like offending Muslims, I am waiting to see if this years festive lights ( or Wintermass lights) avoid any pictorial reference to anything connected with the religious celebration some people ( but not all) celebrate on the 25th December, as I noticed last year. The lights will have many stars, moons, sunburst type things, sqiggles etc. Not to be seen will be mangers, Marys, donkeys, Wise men travelling from afar or anear, shepherds washing their socks by night, and not a glimpse of you know who.
The home of PC even puts eastern style lamposts in certain areas .
