What type of generator will I need

I’m considering building a medium size wind turbine and with gearing it could produce a shaft speed of around 1,500 rpm. What type of generator would I need along with other pieces of equipment before I could export electricity to the National Grid? I'm not a sparky nor a techy so please keep answers simple.

depends on how many kW your wind turbine is, but you will need a 'grid tied' inverter suitable for wind turbines.
