Where do you buy stuff

I was wondering where most of you sparks buy stuff. I've used CEF and screwfix and am aware of tlc-direct.

Which ones do you use and why?

Personally I think CEF are ok, but I don't like the fact they don't publish prices, unlike screwfix and tlc-direct. Also, CEF doesn't have pictures for everything on the website, and doesn't support online ordering (unless you want to leave the price you pay to chance).

Local independent wholesaler these days for the few bits I buy, knew the owner when he worked for Eddy's & have always got good bulls**t free service from him.

Used to use Rexel Senate for the same reason.

Screwfix product quality is not very good.

I stopped using them a long time ago, and built a relationship with a local independent.

Their prices are now the cheapest out of all of them.

Mail order / on line : Screwfix, TLC, Toolstation, CPC (often have very good special offers for account holders, particularly cheap CU's etc), BES (very limited electrical range but brilliant for plumbing)

Local wholesalers here are William Wilson (Electric Center) who do free next day delivery in their own fleet of vans for any size order.

Only go to CEF when I have to, which is not often.

I generally dont purchase online, as i need to pick up stuff on breakdowns etc

They do business as it should be

Very experienced and helpful, whether the order is big or small, it doesnt matter

Face to face, good old fashioned honest business, you want it - they get it

They tend to be industrial biased so suits me down to the ground

No matter what part of a machine i take them, someone there has experience with one, and i get sorted

May be a bit different to a domestic spark as they dont shift twin and earth by the pallet

But for the industrial / installation / automation products i find them good, and one thing i dont find from anyone else is the SUPPORT

I buy all my stuff from a local independent, built up a good relationship, get competitive prices on most things and they go out of their way to help you out.
