Ha im just trying to get this in plain english.

Lets say I have a typical bungalow

I have

shower on 10mm

cooker on 6mm

two final rings on 2.5mm

two lighting on 1.5mm

one outside socket on 2.5mm ( for garden stuff)

Lets say im using a 10 way wylex board loaded with

100A Rated Main Switch

2 x RCDs (1 x 80A

1 x 63A

I understand the cable calcs and the rating of the mcbs but what about the rating of the rcds?

How do you know what goes under the 80A and what goes under the 63A?

If you like you could tell me what you use

these are the mcbs

3 x 6A, 2 x 16A, 4 x 32A, 1 x 40A

Ok i would put the

80A RCD

shower on the 40A

final ring (1) 32A

lighting (1) 6A

63A RCD

cooker 32A

final ring (2) 32A

lighting (2) 6A

outside socket 16A

Just trying to understand how you know what rcd to use.

thanks
