Hi Guys,

Can you clear these up for me please?

On the multiple signature EIC (designer, constructor tester ones), if the designer is other than yourself, who decides the interval to the next inspection?

I was always told that the designer should design the system taking into account the planned environment and the likely standard of maintenance. Based on that information he would designate the first interval. After that inspection, it

Hi mate,

The designer specifies the first inspection on a new install - afaik.

R1 + R2 of ring final is given when you connect outgoing line to incomming cpc and vice versa (figure of 8 test) - measure at each socket outlet between line and cpc.........result should be roughly the same at each socket on the ring - this is your R1 + R2.

Additionally, once you've done that and the R1 + Rn figure of 8, you've also confirmed polarity (as long as you got both readings at each socket), - so don't have them telling you that you have to throw the switch to confirm polarity either;)

Thanks thats what i thought,

Just told by examiner the opposite of what i've learned.

Had all my R1+R2's filled in for radials. Socket (ring circ) R1+R2 box empty. I was moving on to ring tests and was told to put a link (Breaker L to E bar) in to get R1+R2 for ring circuit!!!

Makes no sense.

if GN3 says designer then that will be the answer they want, IMHO

the other way of doing it is IIRC the old method2, if I have read it correctly

Im not sure this is permitted anymore, but it was once a standard practice as it could be done much more quickly if you knew the easy way.......

blown plugtops anyone??????????
