Who sets the Economy 7 settings - me or Scottish Power

I am in my 80's and totally confused with the Gledhill Eco system which runs on Economy 7 in my new apartment - do I have to set the Economy 7 times or does Scottish Power do this. My meter is in a communal room and most other residents seem to be with EON

Its the duty of the supplier to set the E7 timings - if the house holder could do it they would all be using peak times!

From what I can see of the Gledhill Eco system, it heats at Scottish Power's E7 times of either 00:00 to 07:00 GMT (i.e. 01:00 to 08:00 BST in summer) or 00:30 to 07:30 GMT (i.e. 01:30 to 08:30 BST in summer).
And you can override that at any time, but will be using peak time electricity.

Thank you for replies - does anyone know if I can reduce the heat of the water (as you can with gas boilers) to save electricity?

There is probably an adjustable thermostat on the side of the cylinder.

If you have economy 7 there isn’t much you can do other than lowering the temperature a bit.

And of course never using the daytime boost
