Yep some good deal on square edge sockets and switchs etc they have some good monthly deals I place an order once or twice a month for the basics!

same price for credit or cash sales.

you also get pretty much everything else in the SF catalogue cheaper. sometimes not by much, but netter than nothing

Alpha it 20% for trades off catalogue price at screwfix !
Please tell me more?

I have a screwfix trade account, but I'm sad to say they charge me the full catalogue price. Having the trade account only means I don't have to pay for stuff until the end of the next month (no different really than if I paid by credit card)

So how do YOU get discount from Screwfix?

OR are you meaning the fact that stuff from Electrifix is cheaper than the Screwfix price?

seems as though many people on here use CPC on a regular basis' date=' and there are never any complaints about them... unlike certain other wholesalers[/quote']Yes I use them a lot. Again I have a trade account with them.

Regarding promo codes, they do this by adding 2 extra digits to the end of the catalogue number.

Account holders get a weekly flyer listing items on promotion. So it's easy to see what are the current promo codes (the extra 2 digits added to the end of the part number)

So, when ordering things on line, even if an item is not listed as being on promo, I always try adding the known current promo digits to the end of a part number, and it's surprising how many times that results in a discount, even on items not listed in the printed promotional flyers.

I particularly like CPC's Pro Elec range of electrical accessories, and the cheapest MCB's (a little over

Ask screwfix again Dave they told me trades get 20% off catalogue price, maybe it's different in Scotland ?

I've long since abandoned CEF - but generally I find Denmans very fair and their Connector magazine gives the prices - so transparent. I do like the Designa range - and the metal finish accessories are a good buy - and seem more rugged than the SF and Toolstation equivalents. Mainly though - my Denmans branch is only half a mile from my door!

+1 for toolstation and electrifix!

however some of the toolstation stuff is pretty cheaply made and screwfix never have anything in stock but apart from that i allways use them for my standard stuff, wholesalers cant touch them

I use medlocks sometimes too which are right opposite screwfix and when SF are out of stock i have to do the 'walk of shame' across the car park to medlocks and they allways moan at me and say they shouldnt be serving me ha!

I'm starting a new build next week, and the builder is supplying all materials, so I gave him a shopping list.

He reckons CEF are the cheapest place he can get stuff, which doesn't tie with my own findings, unless they give him a MUCH larger discount than they have ever offered me.

:slap

maybe he will learn

You don't need qualifications to open a screwfix account. For that matter I've never been asked for qualifications for my account with a wholesaler either.Electrifix is a spin off from screwfix which in theory is trade only and a bit cheaper, but again, they just opened an account for me and never asked for qualifications.
I opened an account with electrifix and they wanted to see proof of part p registration so I showed them my Elecsa card. However the wholesaler where I have an account never wanted to see any qualifications.

Electrifix asked for my 17th cert but I could have shown em my design and

Technology gcse certificate .. They wouldn't have known the difference lol

I think they are getting more lenient. When I opened my account they wanted my NICEIC reg no. or similar. When I gave my BSI number I think they were confused or may not of heard of BSI.

Okay time for a dumb electrifix question: Can you order on line from electrifix (rather than screwfix)?

If you type electri fix.com it goes to the normal screwfix website.

So is electrifix trade counter only, or have I just not discovered the secret way to get the the electrifix website?

I order from screwfix ( electrifix ) and as far as i know the prices you see should be the electrifix prices, if you are logged on that is. If you don't log on it will be the screwfix price shown.

Matt

Signed up Friday all they wanted to see was my jib card I asked if they wanted my napit card they said no ive opened a cash account but if I want a electri fix card I have to apply online and the site wasn't working
