All very confusing

I have had a screwfix account for about 8 years.

When Electrifix started, they wrote to me and said they have opened an account and gave me a plastic electrifix card (I'm not sure I know where it is now)

Then they later changed their payment system so they opened TradeUK account for me, which is how I now pay. I had a lot of trouble during that period logging in, and for a short period until I made a fuss, could not order on line and had to phone my orders through.

I thought I WAS using the electrifix account, but it looks like I am not.

This all came to a head today when they sent me a flyer saying they have just opened a new Electrifix trade counter near me, and here's a

All sorted now. My "electrifix" account is reinstated.

There must have been some big c0ck ups during the system changeover, they had 3 account numbers on file for me, 2 of them dormant. So they are gone and I'm back to being an "electrifix" customer.

My request to get the discount that should have been applied for the last year or 2 was met with a rather convenient "sorry the old system was closed down last week so we can't do that I'm afraid"

good show Dave,

I had a similar problem at the beginning,

they registered me for electricfix, and kept sending me all the bumf etc, but everytime I tried to use my number it didnt exist,

I just couldnt be bothered then one day I was in a different branch and it was quiet and the girl asked if I was trade and why didnt I have an account,

well, explained it all to her and half an hour later she had me a brand new electricfix number and no ID at all,

maybe she was after my body, ;)

saying that, I have been getting these weird gasping for air phone calls since, :|

unfortunately the one I was in only had 4, and I needed 2 for the particular job I was doing,

have you fitted them yet? I actually found them pretty decent, deffo up there with all the other cheaper end stuff that generally costs twice as much.

BG??? Im almost certain the ones I got were masterseal? I would need to check that out to be certain though.

I like them because they are easier to get into compared to an MK old folks and even me struggle to open the lid on an MK waterproof socket.

its about the one product I really think is quality from MK is their waterproof stuff, except the lids need a frickin O level and some contortion to open.!

I really liked those clippy things on the SF sockets, just wonder how long they will last though, a hot summer and cold winter may just kill them to the point of brittle.

Well here's another tale of woe from a wholesaler.

Todays job was putting right all the lighting left in a trashed state by a rogue tenant who did a runner from a rental property.

I needed about 40 Halogen lamps of various types, 3 dimmer switches (2 single and 1 double) and a 12V transformer.

So I went to a wholesaler, William Wilson, otherwise known as the Electric centre.

They only had half the lamps I needed, but before signing the ticket I asked him how much.

Closed my account with CEF at the weekend after getting a snotty phone call from the branch manager asking why i dont use them very often. Might be something to do with the rip off prices the useless staff and the late deliverys

I'm very tempted to close my account with Neweys they tell you one price in the counter then it's twice as much when the invoice comes through, can get most of my gear from electricfix anyway just some items they don't have.

I urgently needed a new standard 110v socket for my inspection lamp on a saturday. I went to Denmans, my preferred wholesaler, they were out of stock, wilts were shut same as Edmundsons. Not near enough to screwfix or neweys I went to CEF. They had one in stock price
