Hello
I wish to wire a Ventaxia ceiling mounted extractor fan into my utility room. I want to power it from a spur off a power socket and manually switch the unit on and off at the wall.
Is it correct to place a fused spur off a plug socket and then downstream from the fused spur insert a 3 pole isolation switch, then downstream from this wire direct to the extractor. I would use the isolation switch as a manual on and off. There is a pull cord on the unit but I would prefer not to use this.
I'm not sure whether the fused spur needs to be between the isolation and source socket or after the isolation. I assume I need a fused spur rather to put a fuse inline before the appliance (and that just having an isolation switch is not acceptable).
Also, is it correct to use the isolation switch as a day to day switch.
Thank you for your help
