Hi I have a hot tub the plate says 230 volts it has a 32amp blue round plug can this be swapped out for a standard 3 pin plug as I'm told the wire it's on isn't 32 amp or do I need a sparky to install a 32 amp socket outside for it to connect too

No you can't use a 13A plug it has a maximum circuit capacity of 25A.

Just been looking online and some say 32A/13A dedicated supply but not sure what that means. Is the size of cable written on the sheath of the cable?

No nothing on it it's definitely not a 32 amp cable seems too thin looks like standard cable

Hot tubs generally have a 3Kw heater and 2 or 3 pumps with ratings of anything from 1.0 to 3 HP each ( 3 to 9A approx ). Most of the tubs I have worked on when when the heater and all pumps are running the load is generally around 17 to 20A you will also need some overhead on the OCPD to cover the inrush of the pumps starting

im no expert, but the minimum 25a that it says on it may be higher than than the max of 13a you can get from a normal plug. i mean you could get 25a from a 13a plug, however chances are you'll also get some smoke from it too, and once that comes out, its hard to get back in
