    modern home wiring

You install a seperate Cat6 cable to each point terminated into one of these: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CXCAT6M.html Wiring 1. White/Orange 2. Orange 3. White/Green 4. Blue 5. White/Blue 6. Green 7. White/Brown 8. Brown You can't daisy chain them like telephone points...

    modern home wiring

Agreed. Although they are currently working on the next WiFi standard and reckon it will hit the streets in a couple of years. It "promises" wireless speeds of upto 7 Gigabits/sec at 60GHz frequency. I would still stick with Cat6 though. You can't beat a wire IMO.

17th Edition (C&G 2382) Couple of questions, help

Yeah sorry about the big red writing. I made it a bit bigger and red so you would see it. Didn't mean to shout:Blushing I get what you're saying now. It's because I was specifically looking for something that said 0.07 seconds. Never really had reason to look at that table before but now...

17th Edition (C&G 2382) Couple of questions, help

Sorry. I think you've taken my post the wrong way. I wasn't being pedantic. What I was trying to ask you is where it says that a current of 150mA needs to flow to disconnect in 0.07 secs. The table on pg 243 doesn't tell you this, it just has the min. and max. disconnection times for the...

cu change & extending the cables

Just been trying to work it out. Am I right in thinking that the brown core and cpc of the switch wires come from the Wago connecors and the blue core returns into the bottom of the panel connectors. Then the brown cores out the top of the panel connectors along with a neutral and cpc from the...

cu change & extending the cables

Is that for some sort of lighting set-up? Lot of blue wires sleeved with brown.

Continuity of CPC - Maximum reading

Correct As SL said: R1 = Resistance of 2.5mm

ZS in a Ring Final Circuit

So it should. I knew what I meant :red card Zs should be tested at every socket (incl. spurs) and highest reading recorded.

ZS in a Ring Final Circuit

Even if the line and cpc were different csa you would still expect all readings to be equal (or within 0.05ohms) in a ring circuit. The readings should be the sum of your R1 end to end reading plus your R2 end to end reading divided by 4. (R1 + R2) / 4 Anything higher will be a spur

    EAWR

You only need the Memorandum of Guidance for assessment don't you? Or is that what you mean?

Continuity of CPC - Maximum reading

This is the measurement for the cpc only Table 9A OSG 1.5 = 12.10 Your original question was for Max. R2 value. 19.51 would be for R1 + R2
  18. JUD

Continuity of CPC - Maximum reading

    (12.10/1000) * 20 = 0.24 (12.10/1000) * 25 = 0.30

    Keeping copies of certs

I also have Dropbox. I use SyncToy to backup all my important documents etc. into my Dropbox folder daily at 10pm.
