    lol what i mean is its not a full inspection. its new system so there fore all regulations should be met already, obviously will look for any that have been missed or bad workman ship.  They company have installed the electrical system but have asked us to carry out the dead tests.

    Plate Heaters

    have nothing at hand. yes i remember them being small. i dont need to think again as they dont cook food only heat up the plates to keep the food warm!!  Ummmm im sure they are at tops 500W ???  Any one done one recently

    Adding A Shock Sensor

    you can wire it from the PIR but should be on its own zone. If the room is on PIR then i dont see the point in putting one of these in??? they can be a nuisance if its and old window that rattles around. I hate them and when we fir alarms we never use them. Just my preference.

    Any one know the wattage of a normal plate heater, doing a pub atm and cant remeber for the life of me what rating they usually are. i have googled them but not coming up witch anything.... i remember thinking 500W any idea???

    i dont do quotes only estimates, but always hit the estimate price. only additions to cost is the extra work they add on

    my misses is a vet. but they dont do that. they quote and if it gets complicated they dont charge any more.

    Yes the RCBO will Trip but not the RCD. as you said he needs to be more clear.

    RCD will not trip on overload the MCB will  You will need to find the fault that is causing the RCD to trip. If you upgraded the RCD to a 40A then you will need to up grade the cable witch feeds the 16A RCD. the cable fitted at present will most likely to be 2.5-6mm depending on distance ect. I...

    We charge our sparks out at 200 a day let alone pay a subby 200. i am also based in the south,  now i understand subys would like more money if they are testing and running jobs, But we have had an apprectice for over 4 years he also can do the above but pay him 7.50 PH....... he still can not...

    it seem like a most ppl are sub contracting to to other sparks?  if you dont mind me asking how much do they pay you on an hourly basis?  We only use sparks on the books atm but will need to sub some work out (maybe) OR do most of you do price work for them?

    All the best, a tough time out there at the mo for apprentices. I have had 3 people call the office to day looking for work. Not many are taking on so if you get some where dont complain about wages ect.  Just my advice
