    had similar and concur regards the tin foil, ours hates the stuff. once on call out i unplugged an extension lead as it was wet and causing the tripping, then i sniffed my hand and decided to go wash my hands a couple times :(

    RCD TRIPPING AT 1/2 TIMES

    1 faulty RCD and an over cautious recall on MCB's wouldn't make me use MK boards, wylex are far easier to install i find and its all we install at work now and they very very rarely have issues.

    every single cable(apart from supply and main earth) are labelled 3 times(where they enter the board, where they terminate and half way), took a little while that one.

    nice and neat :) this is a flush metal Wylex board i connected up in the depot on a new install: the flash made it look like there is more copper visible on some sonnections, odd.

    i'm not claiming its illegal just quoting :) and we are also talking about about installations using CCU but where the isolator is directly above the cooker(which is what i have been told by our electrical manager is now a no no but was fine in the past hence old installations being fine)...

    DNO was supplier, they listened and turned up within an hour or 2 and it was teh guy on sire that said unlucky to the customer and referred them back to us. our callout service refused to TT the install on callout so the tenant was without electrickery from 3pm until 9:45am the following...

    had similar myself the other day, changed a couple of damaged sockets and got a Zs of 2ohm so thought sod it, got to chase a loose connection now. long story short tightened all loose connections and got the Zs down to 1.95ohm so tested Ze and that was 1.85ohm :( turns out the lead sheath on...
