Your First Car And A Review Of It ?

Here's my list from memory; 1. 1980 Landrover 109 ex Navy, great fun but ruinous on fuel. 2. '87 Orion 1.6i Ghia, like a rocket ship compared to the Landy but not very practical in the forest. 3. Went to Australia and bought a Ford Falcon Estate, 4litre 6cyl. Drove all around oz and only...

Taffs !...........taffs!....don't Talk To Me About Taffs!

Well seeing as you ask... Previously he would have had to have a licence under the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 and the Motor Salvage Operators Regulation 2002, but he will now only need the new scrap dealer site licence. Hope this helps

    Scrap Act 2013

The waste carrier's licence is a different thing that is issued by the Environment Agency and costs £160, whereas the council's scrap licence costs £520. I'm not 100% sure but I think you don't need one unless you're being paid to remove someone else's waste.

    Scrap Act 2013

Exactly this^^ I for one won't be taking the word of the man in the scrap yard that it doesn't affect trades such as sparks and plumbers, it's not up to them who the authorities decide come under the scope of the Act, and he won't be paying the £5000 fine either. I agree that trades other than...

    Scrap Act 2013

That is how it should be, but unfortunately this new Act introduces a bit of uncertainty. Here's the relevant bits; A person carries on business as a scrap metal dealer if the person— (a)carries on a business which consists wholly or partly in buying or selling scrap metal, whether or not the...

    Scrap Act 2013

Just a heads up for everyone as I think that most people aren't aware of this new Act. Basically it comes into force tomorrow on will be fully implemented by December 2013. The biggest issue for electricians (and other trades) is that there is the possibility the Act could be interpreted by...

    Unfortunately Down Hill

The only thing that I've noticed is that when you hover the mouse over a thread title it just says "view result", where with the old forum it would give the first few sentences of the topic so I could decide whether it was worth reading without having to click on it. So valuable is my time!

    Calibration required?

Does a multimeter that hasn't (hardly) been used since bought in 2007 need a recent calibration cert or will the original still cover it? Just thinking that if it hasn't been used it hasn't had chance to become "uncalibrated", or is this wishful thinking?
