Touching any live terminal will not be condoned. Live working under any circumstance must be subject to all risks involved. Correctly dressed and with the correct safety equipment it is allowed when no other working conditions can be met. To prove a point about live working and the risks involved see this link.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/BtQtRGI0F2Q?feature=oembedPlease note these have been included to show the difference between risk and cause.

Under no circumstances should anyone show any footage of them touching live parts, this is the wrong message to send out and is not what this forum is about.

We are first and foremost 100% safety which includes the safe isolation procedure for all dead testing and competance and supervision of live tests.

bengie your point is valid without a return path it is possible to touch a live terminal without any risk, but this should only be carried out by fully trained personel who know all about the science of electrics, and should have a full knowledge of how earth paths travel.

Some people who view this forum will have no knowledge of this and will assume it is safe to touch the live terminal. Thats my only point, remember people will visit this forum who are not trained.

Well said Manator, As people should be fully aware if electricity has not got the respect it deserves, it can and will kill people, its not something that should be taken lightly with regards to user respect!, i am surprised that a couple of the members have even though about making videos while touching live cables just to make a point, just to re-iterate what manator has said, the forum is about safety being 100% priority,

I have had a few pokes in my time and can really not see why anybody would want to touch anything at 240 volts to prove a point to me this is very childish and really is not advisable.

I have to agree. I have done this job for a long time now and I still have a healthy fear of the consequences of a lapse of concentration or some other person not doing what thay are supposed to.
